Traveling recently to Hawaii from Los Angeles we boarded a suspiciously small plane for our 6-hour commute over the empty Pacific Ocean. Virgin flies a combined fleet of A320 planes to keep operating costs lower, and they were able to extend the range of a brand new A320 by including sharklets and new engines.
Just as we were taking off from LAX, we banked to the left, lifting my window towards space. I snapped this shot capturing the amazing gradient of blues in the process.
The stars and bars on the Virgin sharklets are iconic compared to the garbage plastered on the tails of the new American Airline livery.
